About Us
Welcome to the Department of Chemistry at the Education Faculty, University of Aden, established in 1985 as the first chemistry department in the country. Over the years, we have grown to become the best department in Yemen, offering exceptional education and research opportunities.
Our Faculty
Our department is proud to have 35 experienced faculty members with degrees from top universities. They are committed to student success and provide personalized guidance to our 550 undergraduate and 70 postgraduate students.
Research and Programs
Our graduate programs started in 2002 and have since expanded to include Ph.D. programs in 2019. We offer research opportunities in environmental chemistry, materials science, and chemical biology. Our faculty members have published 32 research papers in ISI Web of Knowledge for 2023.
Facilities
We have state-of-the-art research facilities with specialized teaching and research labs equipped with advanced tools like mass spectrometer, FT.IR, and HPLC. Our library contains books and scientific papers in Arabic and English to support our students' learning.
